The importance of a diagnosis
Autism is a complex condition that affects communication, social interaction and behaviour. Early identification is crucial to provide appropriate support and interventions. Some people may mask their behaviour to fit in socially. This can start young; children learn they think and behave differently, so this is particularly prevalent in schools. As youngsters grow older, it isn't easy to differentiate between genuine behaviour and coping mechanisms. It is essential to recognise that these behaviours can take a toll on a person's mental health and well-being into adulthood and often lead to burnout and exhaustion.
Our Multidisciplinary Team
Our talented team of ASD-trained Psychotherapists, Mental Health Nurses, and Occupational Therapists have the expertise needed to identify Autism Spectrum Disorder accurately. We use industry Gold standard tools and experience to provide an accurate expert evaluation. The evaluation process will adapt to individual needs to ensure you or your loved one receives the best care.
Our Assessments
We offer our assessments in two stages.
- Stage One- Pre-screening to identify ASD traits to establish a need for a complete clinical diagnosis assessment. We will run sensory profiles and mental health assessments, which are an essential part of this diagnosis process. This enables our autism specialist clinicians to identify and separate ASD from any other conditions or difficulties which may be present.
- Stage Two is based on Stage One Pre-screening results. Clinical and observational interviews will cover Language, Communication, Social Interactions, Behaviours, and Interests. We use Gold-Standard tools such as the ADI-r and ADOS-2, as well as individually decided methods, to ensure we identify any other conditions that may impact ASD behaviours.
- We carefully review all the information collected to fully understand your situation. Our experts will work together to determine if the diagnosis criteria have been met. After completing the assessment, we will schedule an appointment to discuss the results with you. A complete diagnosis report will also be provided to you after the appointment.
Our price plans
Inclusive Mental Health Therapy knows that the cost of a private ASD diagnosis can run into the thousands, so we have been working hard to break that mould, binging our costs as low as possible.
Our nice-compliant autism assessment price stages are:
- Stage One - Pre-Screening assessment. A full Sensory Profile (SP2) and Mental Health Assessment - £400.00 (Maximum)
- Stage Two - ADOS-2 an ADI-r + Report write-up (including post-assessment meeting) - £1200.00
