Rebecca is a paediatric nurse with experience and expertise in supporting students with special educational needs and mental health difficulties. As a public health school nurse, she enhanced the 'Healthy Child Program' for better outcomes for children with neurodevelopmental differences, learning difficulties, and mental health conditions in education settings.
Rebecca is also a neurodevelopmental practitioner. This involves assessing young people and adults for Autism Spectrum Conditions. She is highly skilled in using the gold standard ADOD-2 and ADI-r assessment tools to help reach a diagnostic decision using NICE guidance, DSM-5, or ICD-10 criteria.
She also has vast experience in identifying potential co-occurring conditions, such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Mental Health Conditions, Trauma and Attachment difficulties.
Rebecca takes a holistic and family-centred approach. Her neuro-affirmative practices aim to help individuals recognise their strengths, and she can provide post-assessment recommendations.
Rebecca's skills and knowledge are kept up to date with ongoing continuous professional development (CPDs), and she has a personal interest in teenage brain development, endocrinology, sleep intervention, and child development.
As a Mother of four children, two of whom have neurodevelopmental differences, she dedicated her free time to relaxing and spending time with her family. She even finds time for open-water swimming, which she says is challenging and therapeutic.
I'm Siobhan, a Neurodevelopmental Practitioner delighted to contribute to Inclusive Mental Health Therapies. With expertise in conducting ADOS and ADIR assessments for diagnosing autism, my career spans over two decades as a specialist community public health nurse, specialising in health visiting.
My passion lies in autism – a commitment fueled by my role as a parent to two autistic children. I am an advocate for inclusivity, ensuring that everyone's path is recognised and receives the necessary support.
Beyond my professional endeavours, I find joy in reading, gardening, and travelling. These pursuits contribute to a balanced and enriching approach to life.
